In short: Molded FRP grating is made in fixed mold sizes. Common panels from Chinese makers are 1220×3660 mm, 1220×4010 mm, 1524×4000 mm and 1524×4010 mm, with depths of roughly 20–50 mm and meshes of 38×38, 40×40 and 50×50 mm. Panels are cut to fit on site or at the factory. Plan your layout around the panel size to cut waste. These are typical industry sizes; check each maker's mold list.

Which panel sizes are common?
Figures below are typical industry ranges collected from published Chinese manufacturer listings and data sheets. They are not FIBROVX guarantees or quotes.
| Panel size (mm) | Approx. area (m²) | Approx. size (ft) |
|---|---|---|
| 1220 × 3660 | 4.47 | 4 × 12 |
| 1220 × 4010 | 4.89 | 4 × 13.2 |
| 1524 × 4000 | 6.10 | 5 × 13.1 |
| 1524 × 4010 | 6.11 | 5 × 13.2 |
| 1000 × 4036 | 4.04 | 3.3 × 13.2 |
| 1007 × 3007 | 3.03 | 3.3 × 9.9 |
Which depths and meshes go with them?
- Meshes: 38×38 mm is the most common; 40×40, 50×50 and 19/38 mm (mini mesh top) are also made.
- Depths: listings cover roughly 20–50 mm; 25, 30 and 38 mm are the usual stock depths.
- Light duty: 25 mm is common for car washes and plating lines.
- Heavier duty: 38 mm is common for wastewater and chemical plant walkways.
Pick depth from the load table, not from habit: see FRP grating thickness selection and FRP grating mesh sizes.

How do you plan a layout to cut waste?
- Measure clear spans: bearing bars must run across the supports.
- Fit whole panels first: then cut the edge pieces.
- Allow bearing: leave enough panel on each support (see the installation guide).
- Seal cut edges: with resin to protect the glass.
See FRP grating installation guide and FRP grating weight guide.
Do sizes change shipping?
Yes. A 1220×3660 mm panel fits standard containers well, and makers publish loading counts for it. See MOQ, lead time and container loading.

How FIBROVX can help
Send your platform drawing and we will propose a panel layout with cut list. Request a quote. CIF by default, FOB on request.
Common mistakes
- Ordering by m² only: cuts from fixed panels create waste.
- Turning bearing bars the wrong way: for molded grating check the load table direction and support layout.
- Forgetting cut-edge sealing: raw glass at cut edges can wick liquids.
- Assuming every maker has every size: mold lists differ.

Key terms
- Mold size: the fixed panel size a molded grating mold makes.
- Mini mesh: a fine top mesh such as 19 mm for small wheels or heels.
- Cut list: the list of cut panel sizes for an order.
- Bearing: how far the panel sits on its support.
FAQ
What is the standard FRP grating panel size? 1220×3660 mm (about 4×12 ft) is the most common; 1220×4010 and 1524×4000 mm are also widely made.
Can FRP grating be cut to size? Yes, with a diamond or abrasive blade. Seal cut edges with resin.
What depths are common? About 20–50 mm, with 25, 30 and 38 mm the usual stock depths.
Do all makers have the same sizes? No. Each maker has its own mold list, so confirm before you design.
