FRP Pipe Fittings and Flanges: Elbow Dimensions, Pressure Classes and Drilling

FRP Pipe Fittings and Flanges: Elbow Dimensions, Pressure Classes and Drilling

In short: FRP elbows come in 45° and 90°, DN10–600, in 0.6, 1.0 and 1.6 MPa classes. The bend radius is 1.5 × DN, and the wall thickness rises with the class: at DN100 it is 5.5 mm for 0.6 and 1.0 MPa and 9.4 mm for 1.6 MPa. FRP flanges are drilled to HGJ 45 or GB/T 9112–9124 (or the standard you name), with a flange thickness of 12–60 mm.

What a fitting package includes

A corrosive-service line needs more than straight pipe: 45° and 90° elbows, equal and reducing tees, concentric reducers and flanges. FIBROVX makes FRP pipe fittings in the same resin and laminate as the connecting FRP pipe, in all-FRP or FRP/PVC construction, with socket, butt-and-wrap or flanged ends.

90° elbow dimensions by pressure class

Catalog elbow table (selected rows, mm). R = bend radius; TH = wall thickness; L = laying length. "—" = per quotation.
DN R (mm) TH 0.6 MPa L 0.6 MPa TH 1.0 MPa L 1.0 MPa TH 1.6 MPa L 1.6 MPa
50 75 5.5 175 5.5 175 5.5 225
80 120 5.5 270 5.5 280 5.5 320
100 150 5.5 300 5.5 330 9.4 400
150 225 5.5 425 9.4 505 10.9 595
200 300 7.1 520 9.8 660 12.9 800
250 375 9.4 655 10.4 795 15.2 995
300 450 9.4 750 13.3 950 17.3 —
400 600 10.6 1,020 16.8 — 23.8 —
500 750 13.7 1,290 18.9 — 26.2 —
600 900 16.2 1,540 22.7 — 27.6 —

Two rules come out of the table. First, the bend radius is 1.5 × DN, so allow for it in the layout. Second, small sizes share one 5.5 mm wall up to the point where pressure governs; above it, each class gets its own wall.

Flanges: drilling, thickness and hub length

FRP elbow wall thickness by DN and pressure class
Wall thickness rises with the pressure class.

FRP flanges are drilled to HGJ 45 or GB/T 9112–9124 by default, or to the standard you specify (ASME, EN and others on request). Example from the catalog: DN100 PN10/16 has OD 220 mm, PCD 180 mm and 8 bolt holes of Ø18 mm. Flange thickness runs 12–60 mm and hub length 100–640 mm depending on DN and class. Always state the mating standard so the bolt holes line up with valves and pumps.

Choosing joints

Butt-and-wrap joints give a continuous laminate for buried and long runs. Flanges suit equipment connections and spools that must come apart. See FRP pipe joints explained for the trade-offs.

FAQ

Do you make tees and reducers too?

Yes: equal and reducing tees and concentric reducers, with dimensions per the catalog tables or your drawing.

Can flanges match ASME B16.5 or EN 1092?

Yes. Tell us the standard and class; drilling is made to suit.

What is FRP/PVC construction?

A PVC liner with an FRP structural wrap, used where a thermoplastic inner surface is preferred.

Values in this guide are catalog design and selection references. Final sizes, laminate and performance are confirmed in writing in the quotation for your operating data.
