Load Bearing FRP Stair Treads

Specify a structural tread with its supports

These enquiries concern the tread component between supports, rather than an overlay for an existing step. Include a stair drawing showing the intended load path and fixing positions.

• Tread width, depth, overall thickness and required quantities.
• Clear span, bearing length and the type and position of supports.
• Design loads, including any concentrated loads and project acceptance criteria.
• Front-edge or nosing arrangement and surface requirements.
• Bracket, clip or bolt details, with any fabrication and inspection requirements.

There is no general load capacity without the span and support conditions. Structural selection and any required test or calculation evidence must be confirmed for the actual arrangement.
