FIBROVX GFRP rebar is a glass fiber reinforced polymer bar used in place of steel reinforcement in concrete. It does not rust, so it suits seawalls, bridge decks, parking structures, tunnels and any concrete exposed to chlorides or de-icing salt, as well as MRI rooms and other areas needing non-magnetic reinforcement.
Key highlights: diameters from 6 to 32 mm; helical-rib and sand-coated surface for bond; tensile modulus from about 45 GPa (standard) to about 60 GPa (higher-modulus grade); straight bars and bends. Properties are designed with reference to ASTM D7957, CSA S807 and GB/T 26743.
Key benefits
- Will not corrode in chloride, seawater or de-icing salt exposure
- About a quarter the weight of steel bar for easier handling
- Non-magnetic and non-conductive
- High tensile strength relative to weight
- Cut lengths, bends and mesh supplied to schedule
Customization options
- Diameter and length to your bar schedule
- Surface: helical rib with sand coating
- Standard or higher-modulus grade
- Bent bars, stirrups and pre-assembled mesh
Exact sizes, resin systems, colors and accessories are confirmed at quotation for your drawings and operating conditions. FIBROVX manufactures to order and supports OEM / private-label marking where agreed.
Typical applications
- Seawalls, marine and coastal concrete
- Bridge decks, barriers and approach slabs
- Tunnel soft-eyes and diaphragm walls cut by TBMs
- Parking decks, water tanks and MRI / electrical rooms
FAQ
Can GFRP rebar be bent on site?
No. Thermoset GFRP bars cannot be bent after curing, so bends and stirrups are made during production from your bar schedule.
Can I design with steel rebar rules?
No. GFRP has a lower modulus and different design rules; your engineer designs to the applicable FRP-reinforced concrete code and we supply bars to the stated grade.
