State the thermal duty and site conditions
A cooling-tower enquiry should connect the required water temperatures with local operating conditions. Clarify whether a complete unit or a more limited equipment scope is required.
- Circulating-water flow and required hot-water and cold-water temperatures.
- The design ambient conditions, including the project wet-bulb basis.
- Water quality, treatment chemicals and fouling considerations.
- Footprint, height, noise and access restrictions at the installation site.
- Connection sizes, electrical supply and the required scope for pumps, fans and controls.
A flow figure alone does not define tower capacity. Design temperatures, local conditions, materials and equipment scope must be agreed together before selection.
